Only 1 week left until the Golf tournament at SEA Games 31st will officially take place and today Vietnam golf’s team continues to practice at Dam Vac golf course. This morning, the team was still divided into 2 groups to practice 18 holes, the men's group was under the supervision of head coach Nguyen Thai Duong and the women's group was in charge by coach Bach Cuong Khang. Due to personal reasons, golfer Nguyen Bao Long is still unable to join the team, meanwhile Le Chuc An could only tag along with her teammates and observe because she has not fully recovered from her right arm injury.

In the 18-hole practice this morning, most members of Vietnam golf’s team have somewhat improved in grasping the feeling of the shots, especially the flag-attack situations. However, the green of Dam Vac is currently still under maintenance for next week's official tournament, the athletes have not been able to practice much putting skills.

Le Khanh Hung's 5-iron golf club was broken in half.

The training session of the team went quite smoothly until Le Khanh Hung broke his 5-iron. Specifically, when the ball was close to the tree to the right of the fairway of the 13th hole, Khanh Hung’s attempt to save the ball caused the shaft to hit the tree and broke in half. Khanh Hung is currently using a PING i59 iron club and according to our resources, PING will soon send Khanh Hung a new club for him to compete next week.

Born in 2008, Le Khanh Hung is the youngest athlete of Vietnam golf’s team at SEA Games 31st and is currently in good state. In the second qualifying round, this 14-year-old golfer had a total score of -3 after 4 rounds, Khanh Hung ranked 2nd at the Lexus Challenge and 8th at the 2022 National Golf Championship. Khanh Hung is currently ranked 4132nd on the WAGR.
